Review: Breastpumps

Haha.. i know i can be really crazy and extreme, when i'm so into a specified topic, in this case, expressing breastmilk.

From previous blogpost can see and know i'm still struggling with low supply.

I was using Medela all along, until my massage lady, told me that Spectra is the #1 in the market now.

Being the extremist me, i went to get one!
However i didnt get the hospital grade (S1 or S2), but S9, as convenient to bring around.

Then while expressing with my colleague (there's only one meeting room that is feasible for expression of breastmilk), she recommended this brand called Bubee.

Small, powerful, and most importantly, really cheap!
Only minus point is need to be connected to an adaptor.

So, here's my collection of breastpumps!

From left: Spectra S9, Bubee, Medela freestyle

And so, which one do i prefer?

Spectra, because of the following reasons:

1) the breastpump parts not as many as medela!
Means, less washing, more time to do pumping, especially in the middle of the night.

2) really no backflow of breastmilk

I didn't go to the highest speed for both, because read that can cause bleeding over the long run.

However, it uses wide-opening, so i need to get another brand called Maymam convertor to use with my medela bottles.
Can get from Pupsik

Do note, the size of the funnel matters too!

Medela default comes in size24. which i feel too big. but i didnt know until later.
Thus when getting the convertor, i opt for size21, and feel so much more comfortable.

In terms of strength, both are actually comparable.

As for Bubee, the suction is really strong.. too strong that i can feel the pain even though i stopped pumping.
And comes in only one size, 28. i suspect could be due to this that cause the pain?

Will be trying Medela again, well, to rotate from time to time.
My sterilizer however, is getting really full.. from all the breastpump parts...

That's all for now..
