Travel: Western Australia - Perth 2018 - Day 2

Day 2 of our trip. Woke up feeling really cold. Guess the heat from the aircon (at dining area) didn't manage to spread to the bedroom. Brrr....

Here's a day view of how the "chalet" or cottage looks like.
Very cosy feel right?
Literally out there in the "forest". 😊

Here is Joash, all dressed, in his cowl too, since morning is rather chilly.

The kangaroos hopped over, for their breakfast!

Our first stop, Wonky Windmill, just 10min away from Yelverton Brooks (where we stayed)

Apparently quite a lot of people actually popped by, to feed the animals on the farm!
It cost $12 per person. Kids below 2 (i think) are free.

you can also have your meals here, which is what we did, breakfast.
(Though we also realised, people seems to have their breakfast at home, coz only we sat there and ate. 😆)
They sold jams and sauces and olive oil there. all produces by them.

Here's our breakfast. Scone, real big one. (but texture too flour-y)

this bread is really nice! We end up buying ingredients from Coles and made ourselves for the next few mornings.. :p

Joash's breakfast box!
Cute right? cookies, bread and juices. Of course, he don't get to drink, lucky me i can!

He is so full of expression lately.. he simply go ... "Wow!"

The current season has only lemonade, and oranges! taste sweet!

After a hearty meal, its time to feed the animals!
Though we commented to the lady @ Cashier, with the amount of people we see coming in, by the time we want to feed, won't the animals be too full? 😂

Joash, still wrapped because kiasu mummy scare him getting cold.
He is excited! haha

Smart though like portraying a "little blue/purple riding hood" look?

first stop, see a calf being fed.
Yes, despite the size, still a calf and can only take milk. a huge bottle though.

the "babies"!

time to feed the "big" animals with carrots!
Joash was so sweet, he actually pick up those dropped to the ground for them. but they are rather spoilt, they don't want those!

Its a pony...

Happily prancing around the farm. if he can sing, he will sing "i'm free..."

Looking real cool.
Love the blue sky, green pasture. such an awesome background for photoshoot

now, this is the cow... no longer calf. so big that it can't see the carrot bits Joash was holding out for it to eat. Haha...

Father and son, looking so good. my boys...

The super tam jiak sheep. literally push its head out to "snatch" for the carrot. Joash can't feed in time lor.

More to go... though his carrots finishing.

Oink oink! they love the carrots and they don't mind eating those picked up from the ground.
This is being appreciative.. ya? Haha

Back to bio the pony again

Oh ya.. My jujube gets a photo too. Sakura Swirls Be Supplied. How pretty can?

Finally can sit on a cow.. fake cow.

Bought this.. to bring back to Singapore. Still as good. :)

Next stop, winery!
coming to Margaret River, wineries a must, don't you think?

While driving past, can't help but stop to take a look at all the cows grazing. its a sight you won't get to see in Singapore for sure.

Come to know of this winery from May's blog
Was previously known as Laurence Wines, but heard was bought over or something.
It is now known as Robert Oakley Winery and vineyard.

Of course, the best time to see the vineyard full of grapes will be Feb/Mar, but that is also where the weather is the worst... almost 40degree?
( think i'm fine to admire from photos)

Let's have lunch first..
And of course, wine... 😍

Its quite a nice feeling, to enjoy the wine while overseeing the vineyard, where the grapes come from.

Selfie time..

Joash is famished, and too bad, there isn't much kid-friendly food at this restaurant
(Also why rest of the trip, i end up cooking porridge as Joash not really enjoy western food that much)

Chips.. won't go wrong.

Him having fun running around. kids should just have such space to run wild.

Kpo-ing what the papa is doing

running around the flower orchard.

Had learnt how to take a family photo, without anyone to help.
The advancement of technology, the use of remote, as well as timer helps!

Though need to beef up the skill abit. looks rather dark.

Sinful indulgence, especially such weather.

Love this shoot. both papa and son enjoy the ice-cream.

Driving off the lovely driveway of Robert Oakley.

Next, Jewel Caves!

"Jewel Cave is the biggest show cave in Western Australia; comprising three massive chambers. It is also home to one of the longest straw stalactites found in any tourist cave in Australia"

Well, coming to Perth, got to at least pay a visit to one of the caves (if not all caves), don't you think?
We decided to go for Jewel cave. Well, the name attracts!

Being vain, i chose to wrap Joash instead of Tula him.
not a wise choice because... not only need to go down and up, total number of steps is estimated at 500, he also choose to  want to be breastfed inside the cave. 😓

Imagine the stress, need to release wrap a bit in order for him to be able to reach his milk source.
But still, managed to get through and it was good!

So yeah... i have latched him in the deep of the cave... woohoo!

Here, a closer view of the pretty wrap!
it sparkles and of peppermint warp...

Didn't manage to take much shoot as camera had to be low battery at this point of time. but here can see.. how steep the steps can be.

and trying to hold onto Joash and ensuring he don't knock his head on the low ceiling.

There's fixed timing for the guided tour, so do plan your time properly okay?

Next, before heading back to our cosy cottage, we popped by Coles, for some marketing.
Well, not to waste the lovely kitchenette right?

I don't think i had photos of those. but ya, i spent $108 (got two can of milk powder too!

So here, the address of the places we went to.
Hope it is useful for anyone who is planning a trip to Perth. 😊
